Gap-Filling Sentinel-1 Offshore Wind Speed Image Time Series Using Multiple-Point Geostatistical Simulation and Reanalysis Data

چکیده
Offshore wind is expected to play a key role in future energy systems. Wind resource studies often call for long-term and spatially consistent datasets assess the potential. Despite vast amount of available data sources, no current means can provide relevant sub-daily information at fine spatial scale (~1 km). Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) delivers field estimates over ocean resolution but suffers from partial coverage irregular revisit times. Physical model outputs, which are basis reanalysis products, be queried any time step lack fine-scale variability. To combine advantages both, we use framework multiple-point geostatistics realistically reconstruct speed patterns instances satellite absent. fine-resolution images generated conditioned coregistered regional coarser scale. Available simultaneous sources used as training generate synthetic image series. The latter then evaluated via cross validation statistical comparison against reference data. Multiple realizations also uncertainty associated with simulation outputs. Results show that proposed methodology reproduce spatiotemporal variability while honoring coarse thus filling gaps space time.

High Spatial Resolution Simulation of Annual Wind Energy Yield Using Near-Surface Wind Speed Time Series
In this paper a methodology is presented that can be used to model the annual wind energy yield (AEYmod) on a high spatial resolution (50 m ˆ 50 m) grid based on long-term (1979–2010) near-surface wind speed (US) time series measured at 58 stations of the German Weather Service (DWD). The study area for which AEYmod is quantified is the German federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Comparability ...
متن کاملDynamic characterization and predictability analysis of wind speed and wind power time series in Spain wind farm
The renewable energy resources such as wind power have recently attracted more researchers’ attention. It is mainly due to the aggressive energy consumption, high pollution and cost of fossil fuels. In this era, the future fluctuations of these time series should be predicted to increase the reliability of the power network. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics and short-term predictabili...
متن کاملMissing data simulation inside flow rate time-series using multiple-point statistics
The direct sampling (DS) multiple-point statistical technique is proposed as a non-parametric missing data simulator for hydrological flow rate time-series. The algorithm makes use of the patterns contained inside a training data set to reproduce the complexity of the missing data. The proposed setup is tested in the reconstruction of a flow rate time-series while considering several missing da...
متن کاملGap filling of solar wind data by singular spectrum analysis
[1] Observational data sets in space physics often contain instrumental and sampling errors, as well as large gaps. This is both an obstacle and an incentive for research, since continuous data sets are typically needed for model formulation and validation. For example, the latest global empirical models of Earth’s magnetic field are crucial for many space weather applications, and require time...
متن کاملEvaluation on the Numerical Simulation Model of Wind Speed Distribution behind the Offshore Wind Power Generation Used Observed Data
The amount of wind power generation aims for three millions kWh by 2010 in Japan. It is very few offshore construction in Japan compared with European countries. It is generally said that offshore wind energy is greater than in land area, and few disturbance. In Japan, suitable construction sites for wind power generation in land are decreasing, then, the construction of wind power generation i...
